Aputure LS 300x Kit

The Aputure LS 300x is the first Bowens Mount Bi-Colour light to be compatible with lensed optical modifiers like the Fresnel 2X and Spotlight Mount.

Description

The Aputure LS 300X – Beyond Bi-colour.
THE FIRST OF ITS KIND

The Aputure LS 300x is the first Bowens Mount Bi-Colour light to be compatible with lensed optical modifiers like the Fresnel 2X and Spotlight Mount.

ENHANCED OUTPUT

The 300x’s ability to use lensed optical modifiers allows its CCT flexibility to be enhanced even further, by being able to output over 56,000 lux at 1 meter with the Fresnel 2X.

FLEXIBLE BI-COLOUR RANGE

The 300x is the first of many Aputure lights to utilize the expanded vari-white CCT range of 2700K-6500K, going beyond traditional bi-colour.

RELIABLE COLOUR RENDERING

The 300x outputs reliable color with CRI and TLCI scores of 96+, a tungsten SSI score of up to 85, and a D55 SSI score of up to 74, competing with industry giants.

ROBUST DESIGN

The 300x also takes a note from the 300d II, by incorporating the same 360-degree adjustable handbrake locking yoke and silent, all-in-one control box design.

QUICK AND PRECISE CCT CONTROL

The 300x now incorporates a new CCT control wheel with an integrated preset button, allowing users to fine-tune CCT in +/- 50K increments, or toggle between 5 common CCT presets (2700K, 3200K, 4300K, 5500K, 6500K) for quick accessibility.

DUAL OUTPUT MODES

The 300x features two output modes: Max Output and Constant Output mode. In Constant Output mode, the luminance level remains uniform while changing the CCT output. Max Output mode will always maximize the output for the chosen CCT and dimming level, with the highest output range being 4000K-5500K.

CREATIVE POWER SOLUTIONS

Like the 300d II, the 300x can also be operated with a single battery, up to half of its maximum output, or two batteries for full power*, all while accurately displaying remaining battery life. *Batteries that support 15A continuous discharge are recommended to power the light properly. *We recommend batteries that support 15A continuous discharge to power the light properly.

MULTIPLE CONTROL METHODS

In addition to the control wheels, the 300x can be controlled using Aputure’s 2.4G RF Remote system, the professional DMX512 standard, as well as the Sidus Link mobile app via Bluetooth Mesh.

BUILT-IN EFFECTS

The 300x launches with 9 built-in lighting FX, such as Paparazzi, Fireworks, Lightning, Faulty Bulb, TV, Pulsing, Strobe, Explosion, and Fire, all with adjustable color temperature control.

BOWENS MOUNT MODULARITY

The 300x continues Aputure’s tradition of using the prolific Bowens-S Mount, making it a unique modular bi-color fixture capable of adapting soft light or hard light modifiers.

THE SIDUS LINK ECOSYSTEM

The 300x joins the Sidus Link™ ecosystem, utilizing a Bluetooth mesh network to provide users with app control for up to 100 lights, up to 400 meters away.

FAQS
IS THIS LIGHT COMPATIBLE WITH THE SIDUS LINK MOBILE APP CONTROL SYSTEM?

Yes, the LS 300x is natively compatible with the Sidus Link App.
WHAT ACCESSORIES CAN I USE WITH THE LS 300X?
In addition to the LS 300x’s Bowens Mount, the 300x also utilizes a specially designed optical blending element, allowing it to be used with all Aputure Bowens Mount Light Modifiers, including lensed modifiers, such as the Fresnel 2X and Spotlight Mount, etc.
The optical blending element is necessary, as the 300x is a bi-color point-source LED. Other LEDs that do not have their bi-color chipsets blended into a single source will produce color artifacts when projected through lensed modifiers.
It is also compatible with 3rd party Bowens Mount light modifiers.

WHAT BATTERIES ARE RECOMMENDED FOR THE APUTURE LS 300X?

1x or 2x 190Wh+ 14.4V 15A V-Mount or AB Gold Mount (3-Stud) Batteries
You will need two compatible batteries to achieve maximum output with the LS 300x via DC Battery power. However, the technology in the LS 300x also allows you to use only one compatible battery to power the LS 300x up to half of its maximum output.
To power high wattage LED lights, we recommend batteries that are rated to be capable of withstanding a constant amount of high power draws. Therefore, for best results, we recommend using batteries that are capable of continuously discharging 14-15 Amps, to provide adequate headroom for the power draw. We also recommend batteries that are 190Wh or larger to provide adequate run times.
You should also be using 14.4V V-Mount or Gold Mount (3-Stud) batteries depending on the battery plates that are on your respective control box. Using higher voltage batteries will likely result in damage to the light, and will cause malfunctions that will require internal components to be repaired.

Officially tested batteries include:

    • IDX Duo C198
    • IDX Cue-D300
    • SWIT PB-R290S
    • FXLion BP-190S / AN-190A FXLion BP-M200

    • GEN ENERGY G-B100 290Wh (22A)
    • GEN ENERGY G-B100 290Wh (15A)

Batteries that have been recommended by users but have NOT been officially approved include:

    • Blueshape BV190HDplus / BG190HDplus
    • Blueshape BV290HDplus / BG290HDplus
    • Core SWX Helix XL
    • Core SWX Hypercore XL (293Wh)
    • D&O Lighting BP-C190A/S
    • Anton Bauer Digital 190 Gold Mount Battery
    • FXLion HP-300S
    • Dynacore D-310MS 310Wh
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN AMP-HOURS (AH) AND CONTINUOUS AMPERAGE DISCHARGE (A) FOR MY BATTERIES?

A V-Mount or Gold Mount (3-Stud) battery often has an Amp-Hours or Ah specification. This is another way of writing Watt-Hours or Wh, which is commonly how people measure the capacity of their batteries. For our high-powered LED lights, we recommend batteries that are capable of delivering at least 14-15 Amp continuous discharge for best results, and battery longevity. The discharge rate measures how much energy a battery is capable of transferring from itself, to whichever device is drawing power from it. Higher wattage devices require higher discharge rates.
Amp-Hours (Ah) should not be confused with the discharge rate. For example, a 14.4V 310Wh battery has roughly 21Ah of capacity. However, the battery may only be capable of continuously discharging 15A.
