Xhire

Progressive Broadcast Hire are committed to fraud prevention within the equipment hire industry and we share information, (including CCTV images and copies of documents provided) on suspicious behaviour with other equipment hire companies via the X-hire Anti-Fraud Network: http://www.xhire.org.uk/

By making an enquiry or booking equipment with us, you consent to this. We reserve the right to withdraw the offer to hire equipment if we are not satisfied with the veracity of information provided.

This Xhire site and network has been set up in order to facilitate the centralised sharing of information on fraudulent hires and theft in the Broadcast Hire Industry. Since the beginning of 2011 there has been an epidemic of theft throughout the industry, and it seems that the ability of the Police to catch the perpetrators and recover stolen equipment is limited.

Clearly, as an industry, we need to help ourselves, and one of the most effective ways of doing this is to share information. If you have been a victim of fraud, visit Xhire and fill in the web form, and the details will be posted on their site.

We will never be able to stop fraud, but if we co-operate, and keep each other informed, we can at least make life more difficult for the crooks, conmen and rogues who infest our industry.

Please note: Fraud attempts should also be reported to ACTION FRAUD.
